Reinforcement paste

Granol'therm Armax
Organic reinforcing coat, ready-to-use - Fibre reinforced.
Field of Application
Granol’therm Armax is a fibre reinforced, organic, free of cement basecoat render for EWI systems. It is applied on the insulation board to incorporate the glass fiber reinforcing mesh. Granol’therm Armax is also used as a basecoat for all organic topcoat renders. To be used on the exterior.
Composition
Granol’therm Armax is based on organic resins in an aqueous dispersion. Fillers, fibers and specific additives are added.

Preparation substrate
Substrates need to be clean, free of dust and dry. During the application and drying of the product, the ambient temperature or the temperature of the substrate can't be lower than +10°C or higher than +30°C.

Granol'therm Armax cannot be applied in following situations:

- Horizontal or oblique surfaces of less then 45°, outside.
- Wet or drying substrates
- Frozen or thawing substrates
- in case of rain or fog.
Application
Apply on polystyrene insulation boards with a stainless steel trowel at a thickness of 2,5 mm. Incorporate a 4x4 mm reinforcement mesh in the wet layer. After the first layer has completely dried out, a second layer of Granol'therm Armax is applied. The finishes are chosen from the Cantillana organic render range, solvent based renders are excluded.

The drying process of water-based organic renders is a physical process of evaporation and is influenced by the absorption of the substrate, the ambient temperature, the relative humidity of the air and ventilation. Drying becomes very slow if the relative humidity drops below 70%. When relative humidity comes close to 100%, drying stops. Vice versa the evaporation and curing process is accelerated by heat or strong wind.

Remarks
Non-toxic product according 91/155/EWG. The curing time for water based renders is strongly influenced by the ambient temperature, humidity and air circulation. The curing time will be very slow when relative humidity surpasses 70%. When approaching 100% drying will become impossible. Higher temperatures and air circulation will accelerate the curing time.
Preparation mixture
Mix with a trowel or spatula to obtain the right consistency, don't use a mechanical mixer.
